Griffin Raider Challenge

Junior Reserve Officer Training Corps

JROTC works to motivate young people to become better citizens through hard work and discipline.  This program is available to 9th– 12thgrade students.  By taking JROTC in their freshman year, students also receive credit for Health and PE - what a great head start on high school! Also, to add some more fun, JROTC students may participate in the Raider team, rifle team, drill team, and/or Color Guard. Students who successfully complete JROTC may receive preference in ROTC college scholarships and military academy selection. Note: Because NDHS is nationally ranked an Honor Unit with Distinction, the Senior Army Instructor may nominate up to three cadets annually to the military academies. In addition, depending the length of time devoted to JROTC classes in high school, accelerated rank upon enlistment may be earned in the military service.

The Army Junior ROTC Cadet Creed

I am an Army Junior ROTC Cadet.

I will always conduct myself to bring credit to my family, country, school and the Corps of Cadets.

I am loyal and patriotic.

I am the future of the United States of America.

I do not lie, cheat or steal and will always be accountable for my actions and deeds.

I will always practice good citizenship and patriotism.

I will work hard to improve my mind and strengthen my body.

I will seek the mantle of leadership and stand prepared to uphold the Constitution and the American way of life.

May God grant me the strength to always live by this creed.
